Installing Apollo Group TV on Samsung / LG Smart TV
Last updated
Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs only install apps from their own stores, which rules out Downloader. Two players in those stores do the job well: Smart IPTV, better known as SSIPTV, and IBO Player. With either one you never have to type a long address using the TV remote. The app shows a MAC address on screen, and you send your playlist to it from a phone or laptop. It takes about ten minutes, and you'll spend most of them on your phone rather than in front of the TV.
Plans from $24.99, or $13.33/month on the yearly plan.

Install a player from the TV's store
Both are free to install.
- Samsung: press Home → Apps and search for 'Smart IPTV' or 'IBO Player'
- LG: open the LG Content Store and search for 'SSIPTV' or 'IBO Player'
Take a photo of the MAC address
When you open the app it shows a MAC address, and IBO Player shows a device key as well. Take a picture of it with your phone. Reading it off the screen and typing it in later is where most typos creep in.
Rather not do the upload yourself? WhatsApp us the photo and we'll send the playlist to the TV for you.
Send the playlist from your phone
Open the player's upload page in a browser on your phone or computer. For SSIPTV that's siptv.app/mylist; IBO Player prints its own address on the TV screen.
- In the MAC field, enter the code from your photo
- In the URL field, paste the M3U address from your activation message
- Press Send (or Add), then close the app on the TV completely and open it again
Your M3U address has your username and password built into it, so look after it the way you would a password. It arrives in your WhatsApp activation message. If you think someone else has got hold of it, tell us.
