Installing Apollo Group TV on Android TV / Google TV
Last updated
More hardware falls under this heading than people expect: the Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, the Google TV Streamer, and the software built into a lot of Sony, TCL and Hisense sets. All of them have Google Play, so nothing needs sideloading and the whole job takes around seven minutes. You also get TiviMate, whose channel grid feels a lot like the one on a cable box.
Plans from $24.99, or $13.33/month on the yearly plan.

Install TiviMate
Open Google Play from the home screen, search for 'TiviMate IPTV Player' and install it.
Add a playlist
In TiviMate, select Add playlist and pick Xtream Codes rather than M3U. That way the films and series come through along with the live channels.
Enter your details
TiviMate asks for the server address first, then the username and password. When you press Next, it tests the line before saving anything.
The username, password and server address all come from the WhatsApp message we send after your order goes through. Keep that message to yourself: anyone who has those details can use one of your plan's connections.
Arrange the guide
Wait for the guide to finish downloading, then pick a layout. Long-press any channel to add it to Favourites, and hide the groups you'll never watch so there's less to scroll through.
