Installing Apollo Group TV on Android Phone / Tablet

This is the quickest setup of the lot. Everything comes from Google Play, and you can get from tapping Install to watching a channel in about five minutes. We suggest IPTV Smarters Pro, which is free and keeps live TV, films and series behind a single login. It does picture-in-picture too, handy when you want to keep half an eye on a match while you reply to a message.

01Setting up Android Phone / Tablet

    Install IPTV Smarters Pro

    Search Google Play for 'IPTV Smarters Pro' and check that the developer is WHMCS SMARTERS before you tap Install. There are lookalike apps with very similar icons.

    Choose how to log in

    On the first screen, tap 'Login with Xtream Codes API'.

    Fill in the four fields

    Give the profile any name you like, then add the username, password and server address from your activation message.

    • Long-press each field and paste rather than typing, since a single wrong letter fails the login
    • Leave the http:// and the port number in the server address

    Copy these from the activation message we send on WhatsApp rather than typing them from memory. Please don't forward that message to anyone, because each person signed in with it takes up a connection on your plan.

    Watch on the phone or send it to the TV

    Live TV, Movies, Series and the TV guide appear straight away. Tap the cast icon to send a stream to a Chromecast or Google TV on the same Wi-Fi.

Common Android Phone / Tablet problems

It plays on Wi-Fi but stalls on mobile data

Some mobile carriers throttle video. Switch to Wi-Fi if you can, or open Settings → Player Selection in Smarters and change the decoder to HW+. If you're fairly sure the carrier is to blame, the VPN guide explains when a VPN helps and when it only adds lag.

How much data does an hour use?

Roughly 1.5 to 3 GB an hour for an HD channel. If your mobile plan has a cap, pick the SD version of a channel or keep longer viewing for Wi-Fi.

Can I use the same login on my tablet and phone?

Install it on both if you like. What counts is how many are playing at the same moment, because each of those uses a connection. The devices and connections explainer shows how many your plan covers.

Picture-in-picture doesn't start

Android has to allow it for each app separately. Open your phone's Settings → Apps → IPTV Smarters Pro → Picture-in-picture and turn it on, then start a channel and press Home.

The app wants a 'URL' and I only see a server

Smarters calls the server address a URL. Paste the server address from your activation message into that box, keeping the http:// and the port number.
