Copyright & DMCA Policy

Last updated

Apollo Group Television respects the rights of copyright owners and asks its customers to do likewise. Takedown requests are handled under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of the United States (DMCA), and under comparable rules abroad. Below is how to file one, and how to respond if your material was removed.

01Where notices go

Send every copyright notice, counter-notice or related question to support@apollogrouptelevision.us.

02What an infringement notice must include

If you own a copyright, or act for someone who does, and think something offered on this site or through a plan breaches that copyright, email support@apollogrouptelevision.us with a written notice that contains each of these items:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • Which material you say infringes it and where it sits, for example a web address or channel name, in enough detail for us to locate it.
  • Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

03How we respond

When a notice contains every item listed above, we act promptly to remove the material or disable access to it. Where appropriate, we inform the user concerned and send them a copy of the notice.

04Responding with a counter-notice

If something you provided was removed and you believe this was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to support@apollogrouptelevision.us that includes:

  • Your signature, physical or electronic.
  • A description of the material removed and the location where it appeared beforehand.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, of your good-faith belief that the removal or disabling resulted from a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and telephone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts covering your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found); and your agreement to accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

Once we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days, unless the original complainant informs us that they have started court proceedings to stop the infringement.

05Accounts of repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we suspend or terminate the accounts of users found to infringe repeatedly.

06False or misleading claims

Under the DMCA, a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents facts in a notice or counter-notice can be held liable for damages. If you're unsure whether your rights are being infringed, consider taking legal advice before filing.
