Installing Apollo Group TV on IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is the player we recommend to people who haven't used IPTV before. It runs on Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV, Fire TV (installed with Downloader) and some Samsung and LG models. On iPhone and iPad the same developer publishes it as Smarters Player Lite. Live TV, films, series and catch-up each get their own tile, so there's no channel grid to learn, and you sign in once on the 'Login with Xtream Codes API' screen.

01Setting up IPTV Smarters Pro

    Install the version for your device

    The name varies a little between stores, so go by the developer name, WHMCS SMARTERS.

    • Android phone, tablet or Google TV: Google Play → IPTV Smarters Pro
    • iPhone, iPad or Apple TV: App Store → Smarters Player Lite
    • Fire TV: install through Downloader using the code in your activation message

    Choose 'Login with Xtream Codes API'

    You'll see it on the first screen. Skip the M3U option; with Xtream Codes, the films, series and guide come in on their own.

    Fill in the form

    There are four boxes: a profile name, then username, password and URL. In Smarters, 'URL' means the server address, including its http:// and port number.

    • Paste instead of typing wherever you can
    • Tap Add User and wait while the app downloads your lists

    Copy these from the activation message we send on WhatsApp rather than typing them from memory. Please don't forward that message to anyone, because each person signed in with it takes up a connection on your plan.

    Load the TV guide

    Open Live TV and then the TV Guide tile. If it's empty, go to Settings and refresh (or install) the EPG. The first download takes a minute or two.

    Give each person a profile

    Smarters can hold more than one user, which makes it easy to keep a kids' profile with parental control switched on, separate from your own.

Common IPTV Smarters Pro problems

'Invalid credentials' when I tap Add User

It's nearly always the URL field: a missing port, a missing http://, or a space at the end. Compare it with your activation message. If all of that is right, the sign-in problem list covers the rest.

Live channels play, but movies stutter

Go to Settings → Player Selection and try a different player for films and series than the one you use for live TV. HW+ works well on most Fire TV and Android boxes.

Can I watch on two screens at once?

Only if your plan includes two or more connections. Smarters' multi-screen view also counts one connection for every stream it shows.
