Installing Apollo Group TV on Enigma2 Receiver (Vu+ / Zgemma)

Last updated

Enigma2 satellite receivers such as Vu+, Zgemma and Dreambox take Apollo Group TV as an IPTV bouquet: a channel list file you copy onto the receiver over your home network. At around twelve minutes it's the longest setup on this site, and you'll need a computer on the same network to do it. In return, the internet channels sit in the same favourites list as your satellite ones and work from the same remote.

Plans from $24.99, or $13.33/month on the yearly plan.

01Setting up Enigma2 Receiver (Vu+ / Zgemma)

  1. 1

    Find the receiver's IP address

On the receiver, go to Menu → Information → Network and note the IP address. It will look something like 192.168.1.50.

  2. 2

    Open the receiver's web interface

On a computer connected to the same network, type that IP address into a browser. You should see OpenWebif, the receiver's control page.

  3. 3

    Upload the bouquet

Ask us for a bouquet file made for your plan, then upload it through OpenWebif or with an FTP program like FileZilla.

    • FTP host: the receiver's IP address
    • Login on many images: root, plus whatever password you set on the box
    • The file goes in /etc/enigma2/

The bouquet file has your line's login written inside it. Keep it on your own computer and don't pass it around, because anyone who loads it onto their receiver is using one of your connections.

  4. 4

    Reload the bouquets

Click 'Reload bouquets' in OpenWebif, or restart the receiver. The Apollo Group TV list then shows up with your other favourites.

Questions and answers

Common Enigma2 Receiver (Vu+ / Zgemma) problems

The bouquet never shows up

Make sure the computer and the receiver are on the same network, then reload bouquets or restart. It's also worth checking that the file went into /etc/enigma2/ itself and not a sub-folder.

Can I use the M3U address instead of a bouquet file?

If your image has a plugin such as e2m3u2bouquet or Jedi Maker Xtream, you can. Those plugins turn an M3U address into a bouquet for you and refresh it on a schedule.

The guide shows no programmes

A bouquet doesn't carry guide data on its own. The M3U and EPG page explains how to point an EPG importer at our guide link.

Will this touch my satellite channels?

It won't. The bouquet is added next to your existing lists, and your satellite channels, timers and favourites are left exactly as they were.

Do I need to re-upload when channels change?

With a plain bouquet file you'd upload a fresh one now and then, because it doesn't update itself. A plugin like e2m3u2bouquet can refresh it on a schedule instead, which saves you the trouble.
