Installing Apollo Group TV on VLC Media Player
Last updated
VLC, made by VideoLAN, is free on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS. It's the fastest way to check that your Apollo Group TV line works, because there's nothing to sign up for: you paste the M3U address and a channel starts. It has no TV guide or film menus, though, so use it as a test and then move to a full player for everyday watching.
Plans from $24.99, or $13.33/month on the yearly plan.

Install VLC
Download it from videolan.org on a computer, or from Google Play or the App Store on a phone.
Open your M3U address
Paste the whole address from your activation message into the network stream box and press Play.
- Windows: Media → Open Network Stream
- Mac: File → Open Network
- Phone: Network stream, then paste
Your M3U address has your username and password built into it, so look after it the way you would a password. It arrives in your WhatsApp activation message. If you think someone else has got hold of it, tell us.
Browse the channel list
Open the playlist panel (View → Playlist, or Ctrl+L on Windows) to see every channel and jump between them.
Move to a proper player
Once you know the line works, set up IPTV Smarters or TiviMate with the same details to get groups, a guide and the film library.
