Installing Apollo Group TV on Apple TV (tvOS)
Last updated
Apple TV HD and all the Apple TV 4K models play Apollo Group TV through a tvOS player from the App Store, and the two we see most are iPlayTV and Smarters Player Lite. Flicking through channels with a swipe on the Siri Remote is quick, and iPlayTV can keep a channel running in picture-in-picture while you look through the guide. Expect about seven minutes, mostly spent typing, and step three shows how to do that from your iPhone instead of the remote.
Plans from $24.99, or $13.33/month on the yearly plan.

Install a player on the Apple TV
Use the App Store on the Apple TV itself, not on your phone, to install Smarters Player Lite or iPlayTV.
Pick how to log in
If the app offers Xtream Codes, use it, because that gets you the films and series as well as live TV. Only choose M3U if it's the sole format in your activation message.
Type with your iPhone, not the remote
When the on-screen keyboard comes up, your iPhone will usually offer to type for you in a notification. If it doesn't, open Control Center → Apple TV Remote and use the keyboard there.
- Username and password are case-sensitive
- The server address needs its http:// and port number
Copy these from the activation message we send on WhatsApp rather than typing them from memory. Please don't forward that message to anyone, because each person signed in with it takes up a connection on your plan.
Use the 4K group if your connection can carry it
Apple TV 4K handles the 4K (HEVC) channels smoothly on a wired connection or strong Wi-Fi. If yours is weaker, stay with the FHD versions.
