Installing Apollo Group TV on MAG Box / Formuler

MAG and Formuler boxes don't use a player app at all. They connect to a portal (Stalker middleware) and identify themselves by their MAC address. You send us the MAC, we attach it to your plan, and you type a single portal address into the box. After that it starts straight into your channels without anyone opening an app, which is a big part of why these boxes are a common choice for older relatives.

01Setting up MAG Box / Formuler

    Find the MAC address

    It's on the sticker underneath the box. The box also shows it under Settings → System → Device info.

    We link your plan to one MAC address per connection. Send us the exact code on WhatsApp before carrying on; until it's linked, the portal will turn the box away.

    Open the portal list

    Go to Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals.

    Fill in Portal 1

    Call it 'Apollo Group TV' and enter the portal address we send you. Leave Portal 2 empty.

    The portal address only works for a box whose MAC we've linked, so there's no username or password to type here. Even so, keep the address to yourself.

    Restart the box

    Reboot it, and it should come back up on your channel list inside the box's own guide.

Common MAG Box / Formuler problems

The portal page is blank or shows an error

Check the MAC you sent us against the sticker one character at a time, because a zero and a capital O get mixed up all the time. Then reboot. If it was entered wrong on our side, we can re-link the box in a few minutes.

Where's the portal setting on a Formuler?

Formuler boxes use the MyTVOnline app. Open it, choose Add Portal and enter the same portal address.

Can I move the plan to a new box later?

We can swap it over whenever you need. Send us the new box's MAC, and once it's linked the old box stops working.

Which MAG models are supported?

Any MAG whose settings include the Portals menu, which covers the 322, 324, 420 and 520 series and most of their variants. Formuler boxes go through MyTVOnline instead.

Should the box use Wi-Fi?

Use Ethernet where you can. Plenty of MAG models have no Wi-Fi built in and need a USB adapter, and the ones that do are steadier on a cable anyway. If the router is in another room, a powerline adapter is an easy fix.

The clock and guide times are wrong

Set the correct time zone in the box's settings and reboot. The guide follows the box's clock, so a wrong zone pushes every programme hours out.
